Veracruz Demonstration Project

Veracruz has a population over 7 million people and stress on coastal development is high and many areas have lost mangrove, seagrass and corals.  There are several local protected areas through the RAMSAR convention, including the watershed which adjoins the city of Veracruz and which empties in the PNSAV National Park.  In this complex area, we focused on the use of tools accessible through GoMRC to assess current areas and prioritize management actions in the coastal and watershed zone.
